Boise’s Guide to a Professional Pest Control Service

Scheduling your first service with Averse Pest Control is the first step to having a pest free home. While this is exciting, you may not know what to expect from a professional pest control service. Here is everything you need to know about your upcoming appointment with Averse Pest Control.

Before Your Service

Preparing before your scheduled service will ensure that you receive the best treatment possible. Make sure you are doing the following things before our technicians come out to treat.

  • Gates: Make sure your gates leading to the backyard are unlocked and ready for our technicians to open in order to access the backyard
  • Pets: Keep your pets inside the house or in their kennel, especially if they are runners, so our technicians can treat your entire property without interference from your pets.
  • Declutter: Clear away any debris, toys, or other items near the foundation of your house and your fence. This will give our technicians full access to your home, providing you with a better service. If we are treating the inside of your home, make sure to clean surfaces and declutter inside too!

During Your Service

While we are at your home, you can relax knowing that we will take care of the pests on your Boise property

One of our licensed professionals will knock on your door and ask about the specific pests you are seeing, tailoring the service to your needs. They will then do an inspection around your property, looking for possible trouble areas, entry points, and pest issues that need to be taken care of. Because you know your home better than we do, letting our technicians know where and what you have been seeing is one of the more important parts of your pest control service.

Following this inspection, our technicians will treat your home,
targeting specific pests. Depending on your needs, the technicians will spray the foundation and eaves of the house, along with the fence line of your property. They will knock down spider webs and wasp nests from your house, fence, deck, and even mailbox. Depending on the season, the technicians will granulate your grass and billow a dust product into the cracks and crevices that bugs like to sneak into. Our technicians might also treat the inside of your home.

Our technicians will also treat for mice,
gophers, voles, and other vermin in your property as needed.

Once the technicians have treated your house for the specific pests you are experiencing, they will once again knock on your door, explaining the service they performed and making sure any questions you have are answered using their expert knowledge.

After Your Service

While all of the products we use are pet and child safe, made from plant materials, we recommend waiting until the product around your house has dried before playing in the backyard or letting your pets out. This usually happens within 30 minutes, but can be much quicker during the hot summer months.

You may see an increase in insect activity after your first service. This is completely normal, as we are disturbing the pests and their habitats. Don’t worry if you see a couple more bugs moving around your property. With each successive service, pest populations will substantially decrease.

For future services, you do not need to be home. Most pest problems can be solved from the outside, so unless there is a lot of activity inside your home, treating the outside of your home will usually do the trick. If you are seeing lots of activity inside, make sure to be home so we can treat the inside as well as the outside of your house.

As always, if you are still seeing pest problems, give Averse Pest Control a call, and we will come back to your home to tackle the issue.
